From the City of Plano:
Plano citizens are doing an excellent job of conserving water. Water consumption is down significantly. As a result, water is sitting in the tanks and pipes longer than what's considered normal. In an effort to keep Plano's high standards of water quality, the City of Plano is granting residents a one-time, one-day water holiday.
- Even numbered addresses will be allowed to water off-week on Thursday, July 17.
- Odd addresses can water off-week on Tuesday, July 22nd
The rules that apply to the current watering schedule will also apply to the water holiday. Watering with sprinklers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. is prohibited. Please pass this information on to your communities.
Even with this special one-time, one-day water holiday, the City of Plano expects to meet its conservation goal, reducing consumption by 15-20%. The City considers the holiday a small reward for the overwhelming number of Plano citizens who got the message of the City's All in Together: Water Smart Plano campaign.
The regular schedule will resume after the July 22nd Water Holiday.
